Lost in the Wilderness

Jesus spent forty days and forty nights in the wilderness; the Israelites forty years.  Like it or not each one of us is going to meet the wilderness of our lives, sooner or later.  The question then becomes How do you survive the wilderness? How do you reclaim your destiny? How do you prosper in the face of daunting odds? How do you survive the bill collectors?  How do you survive the recession?  How do you survive a relationship in chaos? How do you survive the thousands of demands on you and your time?  How do you reclaim your focus? The answer can be elusive yet simple:  You must keep your eyes on the sparrow.  You must look to and drink from the fountain from where the living water flows.  You must connect back to your origins, spiritual, physical , and existential.   Listen to the prophets, meditate on the words of the Creator, and hear the angels sing.  If you keep your ears to the ground, if you humble yourself, if you could discern your true place in the scheme of things, the message will come, the answer to your life's questions will become apparent. Seek Him first.  That much I learned.
