To succeed you have to be flexible, amenable, able to adjust, re-adjust and mobilize your resources at short notice to take advantage of new opportunities; be able to re-configure your strengths against new threats, overcome unforeseen obstacles, in order to achieve your grand goal.

The other principle to achieving derives from the water bucket theory.  You must pour enough water  into the bucket, long enough, for it to start to overflow.  Persistence pays. Perseverance has its rewards.  The sad truth about small businesses, and personal ventures, is that very few people stay long enough, work hard enough, to make a hit.   You must keep at it; push on and keep pushing, long enough, hard enough to start earning returns.   You are going to hit the ball some day, but you must practice long enough, swing hard enough, and pray long enough to hit a home run.  That much I learned.
