The parable of the prodigal son, is a most
interesting story, one with serious implications for one's life and one
life's journey. The secret to success, to fulfilling one's life mission
is first finding who we really are. Each one of us is created for
a reason, for a special purpose.. In our personal lives and in our
business endeavors. we must first discover what our mission is.
Without that clearly defined goal, without a clearly defined map, you
are taken to believe that "any road you are in will take you
there." You will be lost.
Secondly we must shed, drop whatever beliefs, habits,
mentality and attitude that prevent us from achieving our target. The
Israelites took 40 years to get to the promised land from Egypt. The
journey should have taken much less. A few months would have been
enough. They went around in circles, doing the same thing, over and over
again. In our personal lives, we repeatedly do the
same thing, over and over again, all the time expecting different
results. To succeed - find who you are and shed defeating
attitudes and beliefs.
We must replace negativism with positivism,
avoid being critical and judgmental and embrace the true qualities of
Christ - love, joy, mercifulness, and forgiveness. Like the
prodigal son, to achieve true happiness, we must return to the Father
and assume His virtues and values. That much I learned. |
